- Description of Service. Cinplify is a free, online online social networking site. You understand and agree that the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Cinplify disclaims all responsibility and liability for the availability, timeliness, security or reliability of the Service. Cinplify also reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the Service with or without notice at any time and without any liability to you.
- Personal Use. The Service is made available to you for your personal use only. Due to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (which is available at http://www.ftc.gov/ogc/coppa1.htm), you must be at least thirteen (13) years of age to use this Service. You must provide current, accurate identification, contact, and other information that may be required as part of the registration process and/or continued use of the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Service password and account, and are responsible for all activities that occur thereunder. Cinplify reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at any time without notice for any reason.

Violation of any of the foregoing may result in immediate termination of this Agreement, and may subject you to state and federal penalties and other legal consequences. Cinplify reserves the right, but shall have no obligation, to investigate your use of the Service in order to determine whether a violation of the Agreement has occurred or to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request.
- Your Intellectual Property Rights Cinplify.com does not claim any ownership in any of the content, including any text, data, information, images, photographs, music, sound, video, or other material, that you upload, transmit or store in your Cinplify account. We will not use any of your content for any purpose except to provide you with the Service.
- Privacy. As a condition to using the Service, you agree to the terms of the Cinplify Privacy Policy as it may be updated from time to time. Cinplify understands that privacy is important to you. You do, however, agree that Cinplify may monitor, edit or disclose your personal information, including the content of your emails, if required to do so in order to comply with any valid legal process or governmental request (such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute, or court order), or as otherwise provided in these Terms of Use and the Cinplify Privacy Policy.

On Cinplify, users can submit links to articles that they find worthy of sharing with the community. Their links are accessible to the public and can be bookmarked under the users profile for future reading. The submitted content can also be organized by categories, tags and users.

Voting

Voting is a very important part of Cinplify. When content is submitted to Cinplify, it is immediately added to the "Upcoming News" queue. After a story is discovered by the community and receives *five votes, it is promoted to the front page under "Published News". Currently anonymous voting is turned on so you don't need an account to vote but if you would like to submit content, comment or view live voting you will need a registered Cinplify account.
* Currently content is promoted to the front page by five votes. Over time, the number will increase with the community participation to balance the system out.

08/16/07 Several bugs that affected visitors using the Safari browser were addressed today. Visitors using the Safari browser should now be able to login from the side pane, view and post comments, view who voted and view related links.
07/17/07 Voting was adjusted today from three votes for a story to be published to five votes for a story to be published. As the site gains popularity this number will gradually change to reflect the movement of stories.
07/15/07 Cinplify was upgraded to beta release 1.7. With this upgrade comes many bug fixes and a new host provider. The previous server was painfully slow so it was decided to migrate Cinplify over to a more responsive host. The response times have improved substantially so hopefully the browsing experience will be more enjoyable. We look forward to increase in user interaction and voting.
05/08/07 Cinplify was upgraded to beta release 1.5. This upgrade includes:
* Major database query enhancements - 100 plus calls to the database were removed to substantially increase the speed of Cinplify.com
* Story page tabs - Each story page now uses tabs like digg. There are 3 tabs, comments, who voted, and a new feature, related stories
* Un-vote - Now users can un-vote stories they have voted for
* Mass delete private messages - Delete as many PM as you want at once.
* Mass deletion of stories - Rando had asked me to clean up the old unpublished articles and I now have this capability
* Top stories in category - Added a feature that changes the "Top Stories" sidebar module to "Top stories in category X" when a category is selected.
* Search for users - On the profile page users can search for other users
* "Reporting/Burying" Stories - Users can bury stories that are spam, inaccurate etc etc. Burying a story grays it out to signify you have buried it.
* Page statistics module - A module that allows your users to view all the stories and how many views each story has had.
* Filter by year - A link to filter top stories for the entire year was added to the existing links on the front page.
* Latest comments - A new sidebar module that shows the latest comments has been added.
* "Save" stories - A new feature has been added to Cinplify that lets users save or bookmark any stories they want. The stories are saved under a new tab called "Saved" in their profile.
* Avatars in top users - The large avatars are now shown next to user names in the top users list
* Vote counts in sidebar - Now in the sidebar you can view the vote counts for each story
* Title of stories links to external news site on story page - Now when your users are viewing the full story they can click on the title to view the external link
* Avatars in "view friends" page - Now when you view your friends you'll be able to view their avatars next to their user names
* Vote count is RSS feeds - The vote count for each story has been added to the RSS feeds.
02/23/07 Cinplify beta 1.0 is a new content management system (social bookmarking) for news throughout the Cincinnati Metropolitan Area. On Cinplify, users store links of Internet resources that they find worthy of sharing with other users. Their links are accessible to the public and other people with similar interests can view the links by category, tags, or even randomly and vote on the links.
We are looking for users to test the beta version and work out any bugs. We are interested in as many people as possible to create and account and submit and vote on regional news stories, blog postings, video & photography threads, etc... There are so many websites, it can be hard to view them all. The goal of this site is to have all the hot news stories of Cincinnati under one roof.
