As Cincinnati moves forward with the implementation of form-based codes, it is imperative that city leaders get the application of such land planning reforms correct in order to fully benefit from the gains that can come along with simplicity of form-based codes.
The Cincinnati Park Board has installed an additional 20 BigBelly solar-powered trash compactor units throughout Cincinnati's center city. The new BigBelly units were made possible through an $88,000 grant from the Eva Jane Romaine Coombe Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.

After suffering a cancellation due to weather on Saturday, June 12th, more than 1,500 volunteers will spread across Avondale and Evanston to paint 59 houses as part of the 9th annual Paint the Town service event organized by Give Back Cincinnati. This year organizers expect approximately 7,500 man-hours to be donated during the single day of service activity.
There is a real opportunity to remake Washington Park in the right way, and 3CDC should make sure the western part of Over-the-Rhine holds on to the public recreation facilities that satisfy the needs of both the current and future residents. An UrbanCincy analysis identifies a solution that addresses the removal of basketball courts in the new Washington Park design.
Officials will break ground on the Greater Cincinnati Firefighter's Memorial in downtown Cincinnati on Tuesday, June 29 at 10am. The new memorial will be located along Central Avenue in between 5th and 6th streets on the western edge of downtown.
